Drywood Termite

True to his name, the drywood termite lives in dry, sound wood. His colony is small compared to other termites, usually comprised of only a few thousand members.

As this insect munches through the wood, he leaves behind sesame-seed sized pellets that can alert a homeowner to his presence.

The drywood termite can be found in the eastern United States from Virginia to Florida, throughout the Gulf Coast, in the Southwest, along the coast of California and in Hawaii.
