Dampwood Termite
The dampwood termite makes his home in damp, rotting wood, often living in tree stumps, dead trees or logs.
He can infest homes, but usually doesn’t. That’s because this bug likes moisture, and wood inside of houses typically stays dry.
While a dampwood termite’s nest is small by comparison, the inhabitant himself is much bigger than other types of termites. He can measure up to ¾ of an inch. What a giant!Fascinating Facts
