Carpenter Bee
As his name suggests, the carpenter bee burrows into wood to build his nest. But unlike the destructive termite, he usually doesn’t cause major structural damage to homes.
Although the male carpenter bee can be extremely aggressive and territorial, he cannot sting. Only the females have stingers.
Like most bees, he eats pollen and nectar. In fact, he’s considered an important pollinator of flowers and trees.

- Tunnel vision. Carpenter bee tunnels up to 10 feet long have been discovered in some buildings.
- Round and round. A carpenter bee nest almost always has a perfectly round opening.
