Sow bug and Pill bug
Sometimes called “wood lice,” these little guys are actually crustaceans, like their distant cousins lobsters, crayfish and shrimp.
Their shells are made of overlapping plates of armor, kind of like an armadillo.
The sow bug and pill bug aren’t harmful to humans. They’re mainly considered nuisance pests, especially when they come inside your home.
Fascinating Facts
- On a roll. Pill bugs are often called “rollie pollies” because they can roll themselves up into a tight ball.
