Fruit Fly

The fruit fly is common in homes, restaurants, supermarkets and anywhere else food is served, stored or processed.

You’ll find him hovering around ripened fruits and vegetables, but he’s also attracted to drains, garbage disposals, empty bottles and cans, trash containers, mops and cleaning rags.

This tiny insect reproduces at an astonishing rate. A single female fruit fly can lay up to 500 eggs in her lifetime, which only lasts about a week!

Fascinating Facts
