Pavement Ant

As his name suggests, the pavement ant likes to build his nest beside or beneath sidewalks, patios, slab foundations and driveways.

But when he’s hungry, this insect will head indoors in search of food. Like us, the pavement ant loves sweets! He’s also partial to dead insects (yuck!), greasy foods and small seeds.

When the pavement ant’s around, there aren’t many leftovers. He’ll eat just about any morsel of food that falls to the floor.

Fascinating Facts
