World Cup Fever

 

 

 

In my humble bug opinion, few sporting events compare to the international spectacle that is the World Cup. Other than perhaps the Olympics, no other event captures so many different cultural flavors in one setting at one time. I love my country, so I’ve been a little bummed that the U.S.A. lost a few days ago, but Ghana played very well and they deserved to win and advance. As disappointed as I was, I’m not nearly as upset as Esteban. He has been downright inconsolable ever since the team from his native Chile lost to Brazil. He hasn’t eaten a cricket in days! But there’s always next time.

Come to think of it, you know who would make a really good soccer player? Speedy. Anybody with that many feet would have to be able to kick it into the goal. He could be the next Landon Donovan.
