Oh, to be President!

Harry Watches the Presidential Inauguration

Tuesday January 20 2009

Even though it wasn’t possible to start my own campaign for president (apparently you have to be human), I’m still very interested in President Obama’s inauguration. That’s why I’ve been glued to the TV all day with several of my politically minded pals.

And what a show it is! It looks so cold out there, but so many people showed up! It’s very patriotic of them.

The speeches have been a bit long for my taste, though. I do like the parts about hope. I’m hoping we move further with insect issues in this new administration.

In fact, in order to make sure that President Obama is aware of our cause, we’ve hired the best insect lobbyist in the business, Melvin G. Nat. If you watch really closely, you’ll see him right there on Capitol Hill, ready to make sure insects have a voice in the beltway.

Look, he’s right next to the Speaker of the House! Can you see him? Well, you’ll have to look really, really closely. And you’ll probably need HD, since he’s pretty small. He’s a gnat.

Maybe we should have picked somebody bigger and louder to spread our message…
