Harry Shows His New Friends around Memphis
The past few weeks have been so much fun at the Children’s Museum of Memphis, but some of my insect pals are here for the first time. Skimmer the dragonfly is here for the first time and she wants to do some sightseeing. Paw Paw the hissing cockroach and I drew up a plan, because we have the most knowledge about the city. We decided the best thing to do was to head downtown and hop on a trolley. That way, we could show Skimmer and the other newbies a lot of things pretty quickly, and save time to go eat at the Spaghetti Warehouse, one of my favorite places for pasta! On the trolley, we saw the Pyramid, Mud Island and the Mississippi River. Skimmer couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw the Mississippi. I think dragonflies have a soft spot for large bodies of water. In nature, they are usually found around lakes, ponds, streams and wetlands because their larvae, known as "nymphs," are aquatic.
