Harry Hits The Skins
I was listening to my iPod the other day and my hands started doing the strangest thing.
BOOM! SMACK! CRASH! BOOM-BOOM!
I was playing air drums! And I was pretty good, too (it totally helps to have extra legs). Before long, I’d put together a whole list of great drumming songs like Wipe Out and We Will Rock You. My personal favorite is In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins. Halfway through the song, he plays this huge drum part that always rocks. It’s the best.
So that made me think, maybe I should get some drums. I looked at drum kits, but they’re really big and cumbersome. I like to stay mobile. So I’m starting out with a little set of bongos. I can strap on my bongos and go to the beach or wherever the beat takes me.
I’ve only been practicing for a few weeks, but I think I have a real ear for rhythm. By that, I literally mean, one real ear. You see, praying mantids like me only have one ear. But I use it well, with style.
Other insects have some pretty weird ears. Did you know crickets have ears on their legs? Weird, huh?
