Harry Hides from the Heat

August in Louisiana is H-O-T! Even hotter than it was back home in Tennessee!

I don’t know about you guys, but once it’s over a hundred degrees, playing outside just isn’t much fun anymore. Even for bugs like me.

Because it’s been so hot lately, the other insects here at the Insectarium and I have been thinking of fun things to do indoors. So far we’ve played every board game there is—Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, Risk, Yahtzee, Stratego, Battleship, Connect Four, Pictionary, Sorry, Checkers and even Chess.

We built a fort out of Lincoln Logs. We built a model of a 1977 Corvette and painted every little piece. We put together a 4,000-piece puzzle. Then we got out some paints and painted a mural on the side of our wall.

Honestly, we’re running out of ideas here, folks. What do you do when it’s too hot to play outside?
