Harry Goes to the Louisiana Seafood Festival

Wednesday June 17 2009

I know I tend to talk all the time about pancakes. And pizza. And funnel cakes. And barbecue. It’s weird because I rarely mention some of the best food you can get in New Orleans: seafood.

Some people don’t care much for seafood. I think those people haven’t tried Cajun shrimp. Or a fried oyster po-boy. Or catfish. Or crawfish. If they were smart, they’d have gone to the French Quarter like I did for the Louisiana Seafood Festival.

Man, it was incredible. They had all kinds of scrumptious fish. Some of it was fried, some of it was grilled and all of it was totally delicious. This was the first year that they’ve had this festival and it was for a really good cause—supporting the local fishing industry.

If you can, come down to the Quarter and check it out next year. Not only was the food great, but there was music, cooking demonstrations and even cookbook signings.
