Harry Considers Going Pro

Ever since I went to a New Orleans Hornets game, I’ve been in a basketball mood. I’ve been a huge fan of the game ever since I started watching Tiger basketball back in Memphis. These days I want to play all the time.

Luckily for me, the Big Easy is full of great hoops action. Even here at the Insectarium, the games can get pretty intense. Just the other day I was playing a quick game of 4-on-4 with some of the other mantids. I have to say, they were pretty good. Good enough to give me another big idea.

I bet with the right team, we could take on any insect basketball team. In fact, I bet I could be the star player!

Imagine that. I could recruit the best mantises from around the world. Or I could start an insect-league draft. I’d sign an all-star dream team featuring a Giant Asian mantis as center, a Madagascan Green mantis as small forward, and a couple of Wide Arm mantises as guards.

Of course, I’d be the shooting guard. Like Michael Jordan was. With the right team, I could totally be the Jordan of the insect basketball world. I’d just need to figure out what to call my sneakers.
