Harry Cleans Up After Carnival

Thursday March 5 2009

You know the worst part about having a party? Cleaning up after everybody’s gone.

And let me tell you, if you’ve never seen the mess left behind after the Carnival celebrations in New Orleans, you’ve never really seen a mess at all! There’s trash everywhere. Especially in the French Quarter.

Of course, I’m doing my part to help out. I volunteered to pitch in and help clean up the streets.

Why? Because I love it here in New Orleans and I’m a big believer in cleaning up after yourself. But I can only do so much!

I’m good with the small stuff, but I can’t lift anything much bigger than my own size. I wish I was as strong as Atlas the leafcutter ant. Did you know he can carry almost ten times his own weight?

That’s like a 200 pound weightlifter carrying a 2,000 pound car over his head. Just thinking about that makes my little arms hurt.

Well, I’ve got to get back to work. I’ve still got some work to finish up here. I’ll see you soon.
