Harry Celebrates Father’s Day

Tuesday June 23 2009

It can be tough to know what to get your dad for Father’s Day. My dad lives in Memphis, so usually I just take him out to dinner at our favorite barbecue place. But since I couldn’t make it home this year, I decided to mail him one of his favorite movies.

If your dad is anything like mine, then he probably loves to watch old movies on DVD or Blu-Ray. Since my dad grew up in the 1960s, I bought him a movie called "American Graffiti." It’s actually a really fun flick. There are all kinds of really cool old hot rod cars, and there are all these neat retro drive-ins. I’m pretty sure my dad will love it.

I almost bought him "Dumb and Dumber." That’s his other favorite movie. It’s totally silly, but in a good way. My dad and I really enjoy Jim Carrey movies. I think it’s because we both have a pretty goofy sense of humor.

I’m thinking I might get a copy of "American Graffiti" and project it on the wall here at the Insectarium. That way my friends and I can have our own drive-in movie. Of course, we’ll have to build our own hot rods first. I wish dad were here to help with that.
