Harry Boldly Goes Where no Mantis Has Gone Before

Did you know that they’re making a new Star Trek movie? I saw an ad for it during one of the NCAA tournament games and it looks really, really, really cool. But then again, I’m a total Trekkie.

I’ve never been to a Star Trek convention or anything. But I used to watch the show every day when my family lived near an electronics store with a TV in the window. I always used to imagine an Enterprise filled with mantises, exploring the farthest corners of the galaxy.

My favorite character has always been Dr. Spock. I like that he’s a logical guy (like me) and that he has pointy ears that remind me of antennae. Plus he had that cool Vulcan nerve pinch.

Now all I have to do is figure out a good plan to make it to the movie on opening night. I’m going to have to ask around the Insectarium and see if I can find a fellow Trekkie to take me.

It’s too bad I don’t have a transporter so I could just beam myself there. That would rock.
